My name is Jimille and let me welcome you into my unique but fun modeling experience.
First off, I am not your typical curve model. I’m 5 ‘6” with mild acne and a pear-shaped. According to industry standards, that is not the norm. With God as my anchor, I had to learn how to navigate this industry being “Unapologetically Me“ as a Petite Curve Model. As a Christian model my faith has giving me the mindset and the confidence I needed to LITERALLY walk in my purpose.
In the earlier days, while I was still discovering my “WHY” and uncertain of where I fit in. I remembered the times of rejection, where I would vividly remember hearing “thank you for casting with us and please try again next time. In those times my nerves would take over especially when I find myself in casting rooms with models who were 5’11’’ and size 0. In those moments, fear would creep in. That is when I will call upon God in prayers to help me and show me a clear sign.
I will always be reminded to keep pushing and to turn each rejection into motivation and that is exactly what I did. I was determined for God to use me for his Glory and shine in my godly lane as a model with purpose. I was determined to make a name for myself.
I’ve been published in fashion magazines promoting beauty, faith, lifestyle, business and body positivity. I’ve been featured on television, commercials, selected as a Show stopper for Lov’n My Curves and walked on various fashion runways. I’ve been selected as one of the top winners for LisaRaye PZI jeans campaign. Super amazing! Right!
Even though my journey with modeling hasn’t always been easy, it’s been worth the ride. My faith in God has allowed me to become a better version of myself not only with modeling but with other aspects in my life. I’ve been able to step out of my comfort zone, set more goals for myself, invest in my craft and cultivating great relationships with great people in the industry. I will continue to keep God first, promote positivity wherever I go and continue shining in my Godly lane.
